Devblog Week 8: Mid sprint
Its the middle of the sprint now and we are beginning to think about the end phase.
This week we have been hard at work polishing old stuff creating new and mostly testing!
After play testing last week we got some feedback about the combat system, minor tweeks but really important overall! Our programmers worked on those thing and we are going to have more tests to see how the game feels. The location based opacity of some columns and walls was tweaked so multiple objects can vanish at once..we have four players after all! Moreover picking up of weapons and drops was made easier than before, so that players don't slow down with such things and they can enjoy the game. Death and reviving was worked on so we can have some sort of death system...making the game a "game". Other gameplay mechanics we implemented such as a swinging axe trap, a spike trap, a chest full of coins!!! Another end game asset was the shaman boss where advancements with his AI were made..getting close to a real boss fight! Last but not least there are some minor mechanics like smoke and fireballs.
As for the artists, they are trying to fill up the levels and place all the assets in a pleasing way....make more things that help gameplay and mechanics. We are glad to announce that we have an additional character, a pirate aRRR! All aboard the game lads! Of course the traps that were implemented needed meshes so its was our job to provide them! Shaders, textures and RFXs as well as animations were other vital assets that were then used by programmers. We now have all levels ready to be populated by our assets and to be game tested. Next week we will fill them up and start to polish them!
That is it for this week! We sure hope you are intrigued by the game and check it out!
See you next week!
